Community Wind Development: Spiddle Hill, Nova Scotia

Residents of the region around Tamagouche, Nova Scotia have pooled resources and are developing a local wind farm.
The 286 owners have so far invested $2.6 million.
Provincial tax credits for people investing in community economic¬†development corporations are one reason that “Colchester-Cumberland Wind Field Inc” now has 900 kilowatts of capacity¬†online, with another 800 kilowatt turbine due for completion in 2013.
The province’s feed-in tariff is another.
